"Maramures for Christ" is the name given to our Romanian ministry by Pastor Daniel Chereji, pastor of the Biruinta Baptist Church in Baia Mare, an industrial city of approximately 150,000 in northeast Romania.

Every November, Faith At Work travels to Baia Mare with a mission team led by Dr. Carey. Through this ministry not only do we seek to share the gospel and win the lost to Christ, but we also have the privilege of helping the Biruinta Church to plant and support churches throughout the neighboring towns and villages. In fact, over the past six years, we have seen several churches planted and many come to Christ. Our mission teams are typically 20-24 pastors and laypeople. "Maramures for Christ 2009" was a great success and according to Dr. Carey, "one of the best trips we have ever made." In the course of a week, 27 revival meetings were held, culminating in a "standing room only" crusade, with Pastor Daniel and Dr. Carey preaching the gospel.
